During the first quarter of 2014, U.S. Apple Stores reached record sales per visitor. Apple’s official stores within the United States took in $57.60 per visitor setting a new record.
According to the mobile analyst Horace Dediu, Apple Stores continue to maintain a top place compared to the rest of the retail industry in what concerns the sales per customers. The company recorded high revenue per visitor reaching the limit of $57.60 during the first quarter. The number of visitors increased by 7 percent compared to the previous year.
In what concerns the average revenue per Apple Store, the average amount reached $13 million for the first quarter, which represents the highest number ever seen for a non-holiday quarter. These numbers were gathered after the average number of visitors per store hit 250,000 per quarter for the previous 12 months.
Compared to the previous visitor situation from the first quarter in 2010, the average visitor number rose from 170,000 per store per quarter, up to the recent number of 250,000 visitors. The analyst confesses the fact that the increased space for the new opened stores and renovations for the older ones might represent the reason why Apple recorded this jump in visits, revenues and profit.
In what concerns other retail stores, looking at sales per square in the United States, Apple takes the first place while the Tiffany and Lululemon Athletic a take the second and the third place.
In the case of employees, an average Apple Store employs about 11o staff compared to less than half in 2007. The number of visitors and hiring display a direct correlation. The relation visitor per employee per quarter shows a slightly increase compared to the 2000 situation.
It is worth mentioning the fact that the retail performance is limited to the size of the store and the number of stores. This means that the Fruit Company is focusing on expanding its U.S. based stores and opening new stores outside the United States. The analyst also discovered the fact that all Apple Stores from all over the world stores are earning about $12 per visitor per quarter.
The California-based company revealed the fact that, at this moment, there are total 402 Apple Stores globally, with 151 outside the US. Apple also focuses on opening another 30 new stores, and remodeling 20 Stores. According to Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, the company plans to double the number of stores in China within the next two years.
