Siri is a great iOS feature but the fact that it occupies the whole screen when you invoke it is quite annoying. There is a reason for that: Siri needs the full screen so you can see its response and the requested information. However, there are times when there’s no need to view Siri’s response because she speaks it out. That’s when a new jailbreak tweak called TinySiri can improve your Siri user experience by reducing its size on the screen.
The tweak works by transforming Siri’s full screen window into a small banner at the top of the screen. The banner shows Siri’s audio waveform and animation only. With a swipe up or down gesture you can view Siri’s answer in full screen. There is also an option to view Siri in full screen only when it replies back. The banner will automatically switch to full screen so that you can see the requested information.
You can easily configure TinySiri from its preferences pane in your Settings app. Here are the options included:
- Enable or disable the tweak on demand
- Choose banner position
- Add a blur effect on the background when the banner is displayed
- View Siri in full screen when it replies back
- Customize banner height
Currently in beta, TinySiri may have little issues when performing some of its features, but you can definitely give it a try. One bug that I find is that the banner would not change to fullscreen whenever I performed a swipe up or swipe down gesture on it. Hopefully all the known issues would be fixed by the time TinySiri comes out of beta and we can enjoy this tweak at his full potential.
TinySiri tweak is amazing and if you wish to give it a try, you can downloade it for free from the developer’s repo: http://repo.sparkservers.co.uk .
