Just a few moments ago Apple released iOS 6.1 final version for the general public. After 5 beta testing versions and a few months of waiting Apple finally released iOS 6.1 earlier today. How to Jailbreak iOS 6.1 step-by-step:

Step 1: Download iOS 6.1 and the original iOS 6.0. They are both required in order for this jailbreak to work as Redsnow hasn’t been updated officially to work on iOS 6.1 yet.

Step 2: Download Redsnow 0.9.15b3 here for your operating system (Windows or Mac).

Step 3: Go to Extras > Select IPSW and browse for the iOS 6.0. Then wait a few seconds for Redsnow to recognize the file.

Step 4: Go to Redsnow main screen and just click on Jailbreak.

Step 5: On the next screen click on “Next” button and then select “Cydia”.

Step 6: Now you need to boot your iDevice in DFU mode and follow the prompted screen instructions.

Step 7: Wait until Redsnow does its magic and finishes jailbreak iOS 6.1 using the Limera1n exploit. Cydia will automatically be installed on your iDevice. After jailbreak iOS 6.1 process is completed head on and select “Autoboot this device when it connects in DFU mode” option.

How to boot your iDevice in tethered mode:

As i mentioned earlier, jailbreak iOS 6.1 is a tethered version so you will need to boot your iDevice into the jailbroken state every time it runs out of battery life. In order to do this follow the simple steps below:

Step 1: Use your USB cable and connect your device to your computer.

Step 2: Run Redsnow.

Step 3: Go to Extras and then select Just Boot.
