If you are excited about the future jailbreak for iOS 6.1 devices, then you will be glad to read this. Some great news for some of you was released today. Apparently, you will be able to jailbreak iOS 6.1 running on iPhone 5 anytime soon. However, it was only a matter of time before iPhone 5 untethered jailbreak iOS 6.1 would be available. Now, through a simple tweet, PlanetBeing announced that iOS 6.1 is vulnerable to their exploits and untethered jailbreak will be available in only several days. However if you own a pre-A5 iDevice you should know that jailbreak iOS 6.1 is already available for you, but in a tethered mode.
Despite the fact that the jailbreak team already runs untethered jailbreak on their devices, they waited some time before releasing the official exploit, more precisely until Apple would release the final iOS 6.1 version. But now, when we have the iOS 6.1 final version right in our hands, the most probably is that the tweet will come true. However, with each iOS released, Apple developers try to implement more securities and restrictions in order to prevent jailbreakers from creating a proper jailbreak exploit. If you use to keep in touch with the jailbreak community, I am sure that you are already accustomed with all those hints launched by the jailbreak developers during time, only to catch our attention.
According to some previous posts, the PlanetBeing team suggested the fact that the new untethered jailbreak iOS 6.1 still needs some tests and proofs before it will be ready for an official release.
Nevertheless, now this is only a rumor. We cannot trust something as being sure until we see it. So, all we have to do now is to wait the Super Bowl event on Sunday to see what this is all about. This was also slightly suggested by PlanetBeing in a second post. The fact that iPhone 5 jailbreak on iOS 6.1 will be released anytime now, it will please millions of users all over the world since they were left aside for quite a while. However, keep in mind that if you own a pre-A5 based device, such as an iPhone 4, an iPhone 3GS or an iPod Touch running on iOS 6.1, you can start tethered jailbreak using Redsnow, the jailbreak tool.
