A few days ago, iH8snow, developer of jailbreak tools such as Snowbreeze, has confirmed that a jailbreak tool for iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 is in progress. However, the jailbreak developer did not offer any other details regarding the big release.

In the same time, iOS hacker and jailbreaker Winocm, who is currently working on iOS 6.1.3 jailbreak as well as iOS 6.1.4 jailbreak, has posted a recent tweet suggesting that the jailbreak tool will be released “before 2014”. This means that now, users have a fix deadline to hope to.

iOS 6.1.3-6.1.4 jailbreak ETA

With a high number of iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users currently waiting for the big jailbreak release in order to start jailbreak on their iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 devices, the news regarding a recent release date for the jailbreak tool is more than welcomed.

Compared to the last year’s major iOS release, the Evad3rs team has done a quick job by revealing the Evasion jailbreak tool a short while after the iOS 6 was unveiled. At first, release for all iOS 6 devices, it offered the possibility to perform jailbreak up to iOS 6.1.2. Soon after, Apple fixed the exploits that made the Evasion jailbreak possible.

In what concerns the iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 jailbreak, the jailbreak team has confirmed the fact that exploits are available, and they could provide the required support for jailbreak. According to Winocm, who has managed to make his way through the iOS security system, work on jailbreak is progressing, and it would not be far off.

“The iOS 6.1.2 kernel dumps are crucial for locating particular functions within the kernel that are static between iOS 6.1.x kernel builds”. This means that jailbreak developers will be able to use the static offsets for functions within the 6.1.2 kernel in the following firmware version.

So far, the untethered binary is ready for iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S and iPhone 5. In what concerns the iPad, they need the kernel dump for iOS 6.1.3 iPad in order to make the untethered binary for iPads. With a high number of users dumping iPad kernels, Winocm admits that they help the process a lot.

With no exact release date for iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 jailbreak, Winocm advises people to be patient because it is closer than before. They are working hard in order to provide a reliable jailbreak tool, and now, they are even offering an estimated time available.
