A few days ago, the Evad3rs team released a new version of their Evasi0n jailbreak tool. The 1.0.1 update did not bring many changes besides the removal of the controversial TaiG, the third-party app store, present on Chinese devices. Now, the jailbreak developers decided to offer a different update. Therefore, the updated Evasi0n 7.x untether package was released on Cydia.
The new version, and namely the 0.2 offers all those changes that were part of the standalone Evasi0n 1.0.1, released for both Mac and Windows. This update was offered mostly because many people find it difficult to start a new jailbreak process once again. With this update, things are much easier, and in the same time, it facilitates the changes made available through Cydia Store.
As expected, the new Evasi0n 7.x untether 0.2 jailbreak package removes the alternative third-party app store and adds additional important features required for future updates in order to add correspondents of Cydia, such as the MobileSubstrate release.
According to the official changelog offered on Cydia “ Version 0.2 of this package is what came with Evasi0n7 1.0.1; it removes the TaiG splash screen and adds some features that saurik will be relying on in future updates to other packages. Users who jailbreak with Evasi0n7 1.0.1 already have version 0.2 of this package installed”.
As a mention, all those who jailbroke their devices using the Evasi0n 1.0.1 release, already have this updated package installed on their devices. On the other hand, those who started jailbreak using the original Evasi0n jailbreak version, are advised to head over to Cydia Store, in the Changes tab and update “evasi0n 7.x Untether” package.
It is worth mentioning the fact that the Evasi0n 7.x untether is free for download, and it does not require a boot after installation. The process is simple, quick, and safe.
