Evasion 1.4 Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 6.1.2 on iPhone 5, 4S and Other iDevices

As soon as the iOS 6.1.2 was released on the market in order to fix the Exchange bug and the lock screen security issue, people wondered if Apple patched the Evasion jailbreak in this update. Fortunately, they did no such thing, and now, we are able to start untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.2 devices using the well-know Evasion tool.

Evasion 1.4 for iOS 6.1.2 untethered jailbreak

People from the Evad3rs team hurried to upgrade all their desktop jailbreak tools in order to offer support for the latest software update. Now, iOS 6.1.2 can be jailbroken fully untethered using the latest Evasion update, and namely the Evasion 1.4. Fortunately, all iOS 6.1.2 devices are being supported by the update including the new iPhone 5, iPhone 4S and the new iPad mini. So, if you have encountered any of the previous bugs within your device, you are free to upgrade it as soon as possible and then to start Evasion 1.4 untethered jailbreak on your iOS 6.1.2 device.

Even if jailbreaking is not complicated or harmful, you are encouraged to back up your device using the iTunes or iCloud service before starting the jailbreak process using Evasion 1.4 in order to prevent any further problems. You do not have to worry about the jailbreaking process using the new Evasion 1.4 because it is the same as before. If you already used Evasion in order to perform untethered jailbreak on your iOS 6 device, then jailbreaking using Evasion 1.4 should not represent a problem for you.

Evasion 1.4 untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.2

Step 1: Upgrade your device to iOS 6.1.2 using the iTunes service or OTA. However, some developers suggest the fact that you should not choose to restore your device over the air because you might encounter certain problems when jailbreaking.

Step 2: As you know, you are recommended to disable the Passcode Lock within your device. For this, you need to go to Settings> General> Passcode Lock> Off.

Step 3: Download Evasion 1.4 for iOS 6.1.2 with support for Windows, Mac or Linux.

Step 4: Install and launch Evasion 1.4 on your desktop computer. At this point, you need to click on the Jailbreak button and the jailbreaking process will start immediately. The tool will do its job and all you have to do is to wait a couple of minutes.

Step 5: When Evasion 1.4 finishes the jailbreak process, your device should boot right away. Now, you will be able to see a Jailbreak icon your home screen. Tap on it in order to complete the process.

Step 6: At this point, your device will boot a couple of times before it boots into the final jailbreak state. Once your device boots in the permanent jailbreak state, the untethered jailbreak using Evasion 1.4 is completed.

When you are done, Evasion will notify you that that jailbreak process is complete. In the same time, you will be able to see the Cydia icon on your home screen. This means that untethered jailbreak using Evasion 1.4 for iOS 6.1.2 was successful. Now, you are free to enjoy your brand new jailbroken device without experiencing any other bugs or problems.

I’ve got a problem that maybe one of you guys can help me with? I need to restore my iphone 4S which is currently on ios 6.1.

    Here’s the problem…

I want to restore to 6.1.2 as I have downloaded this.

I DON’T want to restore to 6.1.3 as there is no jailbreak for this.

Itunes is not letting me do it!

I hold shift and select my 6.1.2 ipsw and then get the old 3194 error code (this has nothing to do with the gs.apple.com in HOST).

Itunes knows there is an update available for 6.1.3. Is that the problem? Is there anyway around it? It’s not like downgrading.

    Please help…… Thanks

I’ve got a ipod device touch. The iOS was 4.2 and so i upgraded the iOS to six.1.3. Since I attempt to sync my itouch only 4 from 700+ tunes show on my itouch however, all 700+ tunes show on my iTunes. Additionally, when syncing my itouch, it appears as though it is not completely syncing because you will find usually 6 steps it requires to sync. Mine syncing stops at 4 of 6 each time. So what can I actually do to obtain my tunes and playlists back onto my itouch? Thanks.
