The iH8Snow team recently released the updated version of its jailbreak tool, Snowbreeze 18.104.22.168. As it was expected, the jailbreak team added untethered jailbreak and hacktivation support for the latest iOS 6.1.2.
The Snowbreeze tool, also called Pwnage Tool for Windows, allows users to create custom firmware in order to restore their devices without updating the baseband. In the same time, the tool performs and untethered jailbreak. In case you wonder, the purpose of creating a custom firmware is to be able to maintain the unlock status of your iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. When you use Snowbreeze to create custom firmware and to jailbreak your device, you will also receive Cydia Store.
The new version, Snowbreeze 2.9.13 is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G. As you know, the tool does not support newer devices, A5 or A5 devices such as iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPod Touch 5th generation. In the same time, as you already know, Snowbreeze works only on Windows desktop computers.
However, the new updated version brings several bug fixes and improvements. So, Snowbreeze 2.9.13 fixes iPhone 3,2 limera1n payload issue, it fixes the root file system partition re-sizing issues for iOS 5 devices and older, fixes Hacktivation and iFaith issues on iOS 6.x.x, and it fixes the Cydia bug. In the same time, it brings Apple TV 2 iOS 5.2 sandbox fix; it offers Evasion untethered jailbreak directly to Cydia and it adds iOS 6.1 support for all A4 devices.
Keep in mind that Snowbreeze can be used to create custom firmware on any A4-based device running on iOS 6.1.2 or lower, with jailbreak support included while it preserved the iPhone baseband version for a future unlock. In the same time, with the help of Snowbreeze, you can upgrade the iPhone 3GS baseband version to the latest 06.15.
