For those of you who are fans of Sn0wbreeze for performing jailbreak on your iPhone, iPad or iPod, there is some good news. This jailbreak took has been recently updated in order to offer support for a tethered jailbreak on all A4-based devices running on iOS 6.0.1. In other words, Sn0wbreeze 2.9.7 will allow Window users to perform tethered jailbreak on their iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4th generation.
What is different with this new version of Sn0wbreeze is the fact that it allows users to create custom firmware file, which is can easily be used in the same time for upgrading their devices to iOS 6.0.1 or iOS 6.0. Another notable change is the fact that it offers tethered based jailbreak via iBooty in the case of iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4th generation.
In the same time, another issue that I want to mention, perhaps one of the most important ones, is the fact that Sn0wbreeze 2.9.7 preserves the baseband and it prevents it from upgrading. This is great for all users who want to keep their old baseband on their device.
Unfortunately, Sn0wbreeze 2.9.7 still does not support A5, A5X and A6-based devices such as iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad 4, iPad 3 and iPod Touch 5th generation. Follow our complete guide posted here and follow the steps to complete the jailbreak procedure.
