Recently, Apple has released a new version of its famous operating system. The update, iOS 6.1.4 does not offer any new features or changes for the iOS devices other than the updated audio profile.
The new update, which is already available for download, brings an updated audio profile for speakerphone. Besides this, there are not any other improvements or changes visible within the update. Compared to the latest iOS 6.1.3, which brought various bug fixes such as passcode bug or lockscreen issue, iOS 6.1.4 displays only the already-mentioned audio tweak.
The iOS 6.1.4 update is designed mostly for iPhone 5 users. However, since iPhone 5 is the only device who encountered various problems with the audio profile, the single seemingly-minor change was meant for this particular device. In the same time, those of you who own different iOS devices, there is no reason why you should not upgrade your device. However, behind this single and notable change, Apple might have performed other behind-scene changes as well.
As it expected, iOS 6.1.4 patches the Evasion jailbreak. If you rely on a jailbroken device, then you should stay away from the latest iOS update, moreover since it does not offer any notable changes or enhancements.
Apple engineers are hurrying to finish the iOS 7 update in order to release it at the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference, which will start on June 10. The current update was quite surprising for most users since they all wait for the iOS 7 upgrade. However, this is the last iOS update we will see until the next major iOS upgrade will be released.
