Re-sign your jailbreak
Jailbreak users have an important active task to do in order to keep their jailbreak up and running, which is re-signing it before its certificate’s expiration date. If you have a regular 7-day Yalu Jailbreak certificate or a 1-year developer one, it is very important that you keep track of how many days are left until you have to re-sign your jailbreak.
Good news is you don’t need to carry this burden in your memory anymore. There is a free jailbreak app called CertRemainTime developed by lululombard to inform you how much time you have before you need to re-sign your jailbreak.
CertRemainTime is very simple and easy to use and works on devices running iOS10 that were jailbroken using Cydia Impactor. After installation, the app will be added to you Home screen and you can always open it to check the remaining days before your Yalu Jailbreak’s expiration date. The app takes information automatically from your jailbreak certificate and simply displays the date when your it will expire. It is really useful to prevent the cases when you may reboot your device and end up losing your jailbreak because of an expired certificate.
The app’s interface has nothing special, but keep in mind that the purpose of this app is to just be a friendly reminder to re-sign your jailbreak in time. You can download it right now from Cydia’s BigBoss repository for free.
How To Add BigBoss Repository Source on Cydia
In most of the cases, users who jailbreak their iOS devices find this process quite simple and they enjoy the fact that Cydia is installed with all default repositories. While in these fortunate cases users have a smooth jailbreak experience from the beginning, others have to add the missing default repo sources themselves.
The most popular and biggest Cydia source is the BigBoss repository which offers a huge number of apps and tweaks to customize your iOS device just the way you want. Although it happens in few cases, it is important to know how to add Cydia’s BigBoss repo in case it is missing after you’ve successfully jailbroken your device or in case you accidentally deleted it.
Here are the steps to add the BigBoss repository on Cydia:
1. Launch the Cydia app
2. Tap on “More Package Sources” at the bottom of Cydia’s Home screen
3. A list of available sources will appear
4. If the BigBoss source is available, tap on it to install the package
In case the BigBoss repository is not listed in “More Package Sources”, there is another way to add it:
1. Launch Cydia
2. Tap on “Sources” located at the very bottom of the screen
3. Tap “Edit” in the upper-right corner
4. Tap “Add” in the upper-left corner
5. Type the following URL: http://apt.thebigboss.org/repofiles/cydia/ then tap “Add Source”
6. Wait for Cydia to download the source
