Analysts and critics believe the fact that the traditional swipe to scan fingerprint-sensing mechanism used for laptops would be replaced by a static sensor, which would allow users to place the thumb or other finger on the Home Button, have the software match the print, and register it. This is easier, safer and more convenient than fingerprint sensing on laptops.

From the optimistic point of view, Apple is expected to use the sensor in order to replace iTunes and iCloud passwords, which can become some disturbing after multiple typings.  The same fingerprint-sensing mechanism could offer similar access to third-party developers, which will ease everybody’s work.

However, keep in mind the fact that these details were only rumors, leaked information regarding one of Apple’s future devices, which are to be released this evening. As some readers already know, the Cupertino-based company is planning to release two different devices, the iPhone 5S and the budget iPhone 5C, as well as iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks.
